LEAP streamlines and scales law school application program with digital boards and custom dashes.

A nationwide graduate school application program transitions from paper- and email-based operations to digitally managing applications, evaluations, and notifications with Korgi boards and dashes.

ABOUT LEAP (LEGAL EDUCATION ACCESS PIPELINE)

Based in California, LEAP provides comprehensive law school admissions assistance through a transformative nine-month fellowship. Now in its seventh year, the organization champions equity in the legal system by preparing underrepresented students to become competitive law school applicants, successful law students, and future change agents in their communities. Through its meticulously designed curriculum, LEAP also provides fellows with unparalleled access and exposure to practicing attorneys.

THE CHALLENGE

Modernizing a Document-Heavy Admissions Process
Prior to adopting Korgi, LEAP managed a high-stakes, document-heavy application process that relied on a highly manual, analog-digital hybrid workflow. Submissions consisted of paper applications that staff manually scanned to PDF and emailed to evaluators. Evaluators then emailed back their rubrics and notes, which were laboriously copied and pasted for team review. During the final selection phase, the team relied on physical applicant cards taped to a wall to track progress and guide their conversations. Recognizing the need to reduce administrative friction and frequent "process panic," LEAP leadership sought a unified digital infrastructure to streamline their admissions cycle.

THE SOLUTION

LEAP and Korgi partnered to execute a phased, three-year digital transformation that respected the team's technical comfort levels while steadily maximizing operational efficiency.

Year 1 – The Digital Foundation
LEAP built a Google Form for submissions so evaluators could manage assigned applicants via a Google Sheet, then centralized the selection process on Korgi, replacing the physical "card wall" with a shared digital board. In final selection, team members collaborated directly on candidate cards containing links to all necessary artifacts (resumes, transcripts, essays) and utilized a custom dashboard to track data seamlessly across stages.

Year 2 – Front-End Integration
The application process expanded fully into Korgi, with each applicant assigned a card for every evaluation round. To accommodate tech-anxious evaluators who found the new boards intimidating, the program coordinator utilized Korgi’s "Export to Google Doc" feature. This allowed the coordinator to easily email evaluators their assigned applicant lists, artifacts, and pre-filled evaluation links without forcing them to navigate a new platform. Responses were matched back to the Korgi board for the final evaluation round, with team members now able to chat and add notes to each card as they collaborated.
"I really do love moving around these cards, makes keeping track of applicants and their status as a yes, no, or maybe really easy. What the hell did I do before??... And is it super weird to say I LOVE my dash?!"

Year 3 – Zero-Friction Operations
By the third year, the candidate cards and notes, dashboard, and hybrid export process had stabilized operations entirely. The number of "panicked emails" from evaluators diminished completely. LEAP’s CEO even sent a note apologizing to the Korgi team for not being in contact as much that year, noting that the review cycle had been easy.

By centralizing their operations, LEAP reclaimed critical administrative hours and significantly enhanced the evaluator and applicant experience.

KEY OUTCOMES

Reclaimed Administrative Time: Saved the team days of manual work at every stage of the admissions cycle compared to their previous paper-and-email workflows.
Strategic Reallocation: The operational days saved were directly reassigned to team and organizational priorities in preparation for the upcoming cohort.
Zero-Friction Collaboration: Successfully transitioned a complex network of evaluators, coordinators, and directors to a streamlined digital pipeline while gracefully accommodating users with technical anxiety.
Data-Driven Process Optimizations: “Is it weird that I love my dash?” LEAP’s founder checked the dash throughout each week and scheduled strategy sessions with Korgi to review and refine processes in real time. After three years managing the process with Korgi, LEAP also had multi-year data to inform program analysis and optimization.
Expanded service to unselected applicants: More than 30 applicants who were not selected for the upcoming cohort attended LEAP’s free law school application preparation webinar with Korgi.

EXPANDING TO MEET DEMAND

In addition to optimizing the selection process, LEAP leveraged Korgi to expand its community impact. Applicants who were not selected for the fellowship were gifted free Korgi College accounts equipped with prebuilt “Law School Application” templates, additional vibe board for a customized approach.

Additionally, these students were invited to an exclusive Spring webinar with LEAP leadership to help them successfully navigate their upcoming applications, including a step-by-step walkthrough of the process, guided by Korgi’s detailed law school application template, Q&A, and a chance for attendees to spin up their own custom boards for the process.
